A-10 Thunderbolt II

The A-10 Thunderbolt is a mythical airplane of the USAF. It was in the 1960s that Americans thought of a new robust air support aircraft to support ground troops. This aircraft became the A-10 Thunderbolt in 1976. Dubbed the tank killer, no armor can withstand its AGM-65 missiles and its 30 mm rotating gun. Its effectiveness was noted in 1991 during the Gulf War by destroying 1000 tanks, 2000 military vehicles and 1200 pieces of artillery. It has also been active in Former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan in 2003 and Libya in 2011.
